hearts

I'm branching out a little in my Etsy shop... and introducing a few things I've sewn! You might remember I was making these lavender hearts as Christmas gifts.
Well, I managed to find so much lovely embroidered vintage linen that I had plenty left over. And with a little encouragement (thanks, Ash!) I decided to make a few for the shop.
They have embroidered linen on the front and pretty cotton on the back, are decorated with a little ribbon bow and filled with nothing but pure dried lavender buds.
I think these mini hearts are perfect for carrying around with you. I also made one in the larger size, which I call my "gypsy heart" - you can find out why in the listing.
It is a lot of fun choosing cotton fabric that complements the pretty embroidery. And then there are the ribbons... In fact I have more to list that are almost finished, I just need to find the perfect ribbons for them!
To see more, head on over to my expanding Etsy shop and take a look! And while you're browsing, have a listen to Billie Holiday singing 'Embraceable You': 'one look at you, my heart grows tipsy in me / you and you alone bring out the gypsy in me'.... ah....!
p.s. for all you super lovely blogging friends, there is a 15% off discount in my shop with the coupon code FRIENDSHIP :)
